At the Théâtre municipal de Lamalou-les-Bains, Compagnie Baudracco presents a new production of Jofroi, one of Marcel Pagnol?s most emblematic works.
In this show, the troupe brings back to life Pagnol?s warm and deeply human universe, where rural passions, neighborhood conflicts and the impulses of the heart are interwoven with great finesse. Jofroi tells the story of an old landowner who, having sold his fruit trees, can?t bear the thought of them being cut down. Between attachment to the land, pride and tenderness, the story unfolds all the richness of the human relationships so dear to Pagnol.
Compagnie Baudracco?s staging favors simplicity and authenticity, highlighting Pagnol?s flavorful language and the strength of his characters. The audience is invited on a theatrical journey that is funny, moving and deeply rooted in the author?s timeless Provence.
