VISITE COMMENTÉE ET IMMERSIVE DU FOUR À CHAUX

Built in 1854, the Tour-sur-Orb lime kiln has shaped the local landscape. It was the driving force behind economic development for almost a century, alongside the mine and the railroad.
It is an exceptional testimony to the industrial era of the 19th century. Its impressive architecture and significant contribution to the local economy make it a historic site of inestimable importance.
Protected as a historic monument in 2010, the site has undergone two restoration campaigns under the responsibility of the owner family.
The association "Les Amis du Four à Chaux de La Tour-sur-Orb" (Friends of the La Tour-sur-Orb Lime Kiln) is committed to raising awareness of the site by opening it up to the public through a variety of tours and events: immersive guided tours, self-guided tours (for all ages) and treasure hunts for children.
