DOMAINE LA COMBE BLANCHE

The Combe Blanche vineyard is located in the hamlet of Calamiac, 3 km north of the village of La Livinière. Three very distinct terroirs forge the character and originality of its wines.
The first one, clay-limestone with relatively deep soil, gives the Minervois Calamiac, red and rosé terroir. The second, on stony, poor, south-facing clay-limestone soils, gives more concentrated, more perplexing wines like the Cru la Livinière. La Galine and La Chandelière are the two top-of-the-range vintages of the estate. The third terroir is colder (northern exposure) and more marly, and is home to pinot noir and tempranille. Two special cases in the Languedoc production, named l'Enfer and les Dessous de l'Enfer. And I forgot the Blanc du Four à Chaux, a Roussanne Viognier blend.
