LIFE IS A DANCE ! JEANNE SUSPLUGAS

A monographic exhibition of the work of artist Jeanne Susplugas, accompanied by works by guest artists, presented in dialogue with her work in the form of influences.

Roueïre ? Center d?Arts & du Patrimoine, will inaugurate on July 04, 2026, a major monographic exhibition of the work of artist Jeanne Susplugas, a major figure on the contemporary art scene.

Jeanne Susplugas? work is part of a committed research program that explores the visible and invisible mechanisms of confinement. Whether physical, psychological or social, this becomes the starting point for a reflection on the place of the individual, his or her vulnerabilities and relationships with others in an unstable world marked by repetition and obsession.
To give shape to this thought, the artist deploys a wide range of practices, from installation to virtual reality, via drawing, writing, sculpture, photography and video. These mediums intertwine to create a universe that is both rigorous and unsettling, where visual appeal masks a deeper tension. Behind an apparent lightness, humor and irony reveal a body of work that disturbs, questions and confronts others with their own limits.
Curated by Hélène Audiffren, the "Life is a dance! exhibition looks back over twenty-five years of the artist?s work, enriched by new works created during her residency.
