La Compagnie Baudracco, founded in 1997 by actor and director Jean-Claude Baudracco, began with cabaret shows over a 5-year period, including excerpts from Marcel Pagnol's plays Cigalon and Marius.

In a village in Haute Provence, a recently settled baker discovers one morning that his young wife has run off with a shepherd. He decides to go on a bread strike until his wife returns. The village rallies to help him find his baker.
