Fortified castral chapel built around the 10th century, dedicated to Notre Dame de la Roque, strongly marks the landscape overlooking a medieval fortified complex of the 10th century (the ruins of the old castle) of which a keep and the surrounding walls remain in part. The chapel has a single nave, barrel vaulted, and an apse in cul de four. The building, a former parish church, has been abandoned for at least a century (travellers' tale) and the municipality of Cabrerolles has undertaken to restore this monument, which is a symbol of its heritage and its landscape. This strategic point once commanded a trade route which, from the Aveyron through the mountains, led troops and merchants to the rich Biterrois plain.
