Today, 5 HECTARES are planted with Chardonnay at Domaine de Bon Augure, which is in the process of converting to organic farming.
The Domaine de Bon Augure vineyard is located in the town of Joncels, near Lake Avène, 60 km from the Mediterranean Sea, in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park. Joncels, from the Latin “joncs-cella,” takes its name from the “source of the rushes.”

The mountain vineyard is planted on steep, south-facing slopes at the foot of an impressive limestone cliff. Located at an altitude of 400 meters, in the highest part of the Orb Valley, the surrounding vegetation consists mainly of oaks, groves, boxwood, and black pines.
The very wide temperature range between day and night provides climatic conditions favorable to the flourishing of Chardonnay.
Cédric Guy oversees the vineyard management, and the wines are vinified at his other estate, Abbaye Sylva Plana, in the Faugères AOP.
