20E FESTIVAL AUTOUR DU QUATUOR – HOMMAGE À PABLO CASALS (1876-1973)

The Prieuré de Saint-Julien hosts the 20th edition of the Festival *Autour du Quatuor*, a major chamber music event in the Minervois region.
This year, the festival pays tribute to Pablo Casals, the emblematic cellist and committed humanist born in 1876.
Five concerts are scheduled, each exploring a different facet of Casals? musical heritage and chamber music. Among the guests of honor is Michel Lethiec, international clarinettist and artistic director of the legendary Pablo Casals Festival in Prades for forty years. He will also give a talk on the life and work of the Catalan musician.
The festival is also putting a special spotlight on the cello, with the presence of Bruno Philippe, one of the most acclaimed French cellists of his generation, and a cello quartet for an exceptional evening.
The heritage setting of the Prieuré, listed as a Monument Historique, offers remarkable acoustics and an intimate atmosphere, ideal for appreciating the finesse of the works performed.
At the end of each concert, a tasting of local wines is offered to prolong the evening in a convivial atmosphere. Ample parking is available for the public. Participation is required, with details provided on registration. Reservations required by e-mail.
