Regularly over 1000 metres above sea level, the route crosses many passes. It uses wide forest tracks and stony paths. On the borders of the Hérault department, the route makes a small excursion into Aveyron, in the territory of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park. Please note: many steep climbs as far as Col de Layrac pass, then as far as the Marcou.
